    Fiber application

          Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) is a semicrystalline material. It offers an excellent balance of properties, including high temperature resistance, chemical resistance, flowability, dimensional stability and electrical characteristics. PPS must be filled with fibers and fillers to overcome its inherent brittleness.
          Because of its low viscosity, PPS can be molded with high loading of fillers and reinforcements. These fillers and reinforcements will make a difference in the strength, surface properties, dimensional stability, electrical properties and overall cost.
          Because of its inherent flame retardancy, PPS is ideal for high temperature electrical applications.
          NHU PPS fiber is a high-performance fiber that offers superb heat resistance, chemical resistance, hydrolysis resistance, flame retardance, and so on. It has a melting point of 285 degrees, and can withstand continuous use at 190 degrees. It is also resistant to hydrolysis at high temperatures, to acid, alkaline, organic solvents, and so on. It is used in a wide variety of fields, including bag filters. Toray promotes the sale of this fiber not only as a yarn and raw fiber but also as higher products such as fabrics, kitting, and non-woven fabrics. It has gained attention for a variety of applications that require both heat and chemical resistance.
